Katie-Do, my self-produced variety show on YouTube is still going strong. I’ve wanted forever to create a video where I harmonize with myself and the holidays were the perfect excuse! Check out my rendition of “What are You Doing New Year’s Eve” by Frank Loesser in four part harmony! Happy New Year!

Please check out my new solo project Katie-Do. I’m looking for some audience interaction so please leave comments and subscribe. So excited to share this journey with you!
Actor’s Comedy Studio showcase and new comedic demo reel!
This past weekend, I was honored to participate in an industry showcase with 46 other talented, trained actors. It was put on by Actor’s Comedy Studio, where I have been training for some time now. I am continuously amazed and inspired by the talent flowing out of that studio and if you are looking for a scripted comedy class, I cannot recommend them more highly.
And just in time for the showcase, I recut my comedic demo reel. Check it out (along with some new credits) on IMDB. NOW WITH MORE WEIRDOS!
New headshots, a comedic short and pre-production photos
Wander through my website or my IMDB page and you’ll notice some new headshots! I had a great shoot with Travis Tanner. What do you think?
Last week I went up to Lake Arrowhead to shoot a comedic short called “Breakfast in Bed”. It was a very fun and unique project that uses physical comedy and no dialogue to tell a simple story of a young couple trying to impress each other. Plus I got to be up in the mountains for a few days! Talk about a win-win.
Chasing Eden, the dramatic feature that I’m cast in is in pre-production. The producers organized a photo-shoot with all the lead characters and I got to meet some of my co-stars for the very first time! “Hi, nice to meet you. Now hug me and let’s pretend we’re a family.” It’s such a funny business we’re in! Here are a couple of my favorite shots. Enjoy!
A Pile of Indie Pilots
Pilots are the theme of this month. I directed and had a small role in Zing Factory’s pilot, “Hit Refresh”. We had an excellent cast, I absolutely loved directing, and now it’s off to the post production team. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
I was also cast in an independent pilot called “Good News Gone Bad”, produced by We Make Movies, an LA film collective. We shot at YouTube Studios here in LA. It was my first time in that amazing space and with the talented cast and crew steering the ship, it was a great experience. Follow me on my facebook fanpage for a look at some of the insane setups and getups they had me in!
On set, directing “Hit Refresh”
Home sweet snuggly home
There are lots of amazing things happening this spring! I closed Lend Me a Tenor at Lake Arrowhead Repertory Theatre but NEVER FEAR if you missed it! They liked us so much that they’re bringing us back in August! Escape the SoCal summer and head to the mountains to laugh your butt off August 7-17. What could be better?
Speed Therapy and the whole Zing Factory channel is up and running and our subscriber count is growing. We’re getting lots of good feedback but of course, we need all the help we can get spreading the word about the channel. If you like it when you watch it, please tell your friends, share it on your social networks, etc. Thanks so much!
I am very excited to announce that I booked a dramatic feature film that shoots this fall. More details to come!
On a personal note, I am very excited to be sleeping in my own bed again. The mountains were amazing but just shy of perfection in that they lacked my husband and kitty, Bella. 🙂 I love that this job allows me to travel and live in new places but there’s no place like home!
Comedic web series, Speed Therapy launched!
I am so excited to announce that after months of hard work, we have launched Speed Therapy! I play a determined therapist out to prove that I can solve any problem in “four minutes or less”. In order to win a prestigious fellowship and prove that there is no need for lengthy, expensive psychotherapy, I must contend with a number of kooky patients, an unfocused uninterested assistant (played by Katie Page), and worst of all, my biggest competitor and critic… my father (Andy Forrest). I hope you have as much fun watching it as we’ve had making it! If you do, please leave us a comment, subscribe for future episodes and share it on you Facebook page, blog, twitter, WHATEVER! It takes a village to create a successful series! Thank you so much. You can watch the first episode here.
