Maternity Leave – the web series

I had the pleasure of playing a high and mighty, highly ridiculous mom in the new digital series Maternity Leave. Created by Angel Laketa Moore (That Chick Angel TV), it’s a hilarious look at a new mom trying to get back into her acting career. (Yeah. I can relate.) In episode 2, I play one of the over-the-top mothers in her lactation support group, The Milky Moms. Check it out!

Make sure you don’t miss the bonus material from the episode as well, where all of us Milky Moms got to improvise. Watch the crazy come out! Look, if you leave the camera on me long enough, I’m gonna start singing!

Welcome to the new site!

So, how do you like the website redesign? I’m very excited and thankful to ShooFly Design for building it and to Jenn Spain Photography for taking the majority of the featured photographs.

It’s been a busy few weeks! I wrapped up the advanced sight-singing class at SAG-AFTRA. I will be back to repeat it in the future though, probably ad nauseum, because sight-singing is a skill that needs constant attention.

At the end of May, I represented the self-producing set at the Produced-By conference, put on at the Paramount lot by The Producers Guild of America. It’s the second year I’ve attended and once again, it was completely inspiring.

In acting news, I took a little break from comedy to star in the dramatic short film, The Homestead. We have one day left of shooting and I’m looking forward to seeing the finished project!

I’m enjoying the June gloom here in LA and soaking it up before the summer heat and sun chase me indoors. I know, I know! But have you seen me? I’m too pale for the beach!

A songbird summer!

On set for SkyMall the musical

Iit has been a summer of song! I’ve always been a singer but haven’t focused on it as much since moving to LA. I finally decided I couldn’t stand it any longer! I must sing! So I hopped back into voice lessons and opportunities came knocking on my door. I sang in a showcase last month, recorded a spec film trailer, and acted/sang in this hilarious music video about the wonders of SkyMall. Check it out on Funny or Die and vote funny for us! It’s a hoot!

I just started a fantastic new class based on Stephen Book’s improvisation techniques. I’m a week in and loving it!

I also just wrapped as the lead in “The Cellar”, a dark short film, where I play a kidnapped woman locked in a basement, fighting to escape or, at the very least stay alive. It was an intense shoot and I’m so excited to see how it turns out!

On a lighter note, I have a couple singing gigs coming up this week and would love to see you at one or both of them. On Thursday, come see me sing backup with The Gene Butler Band. It’s a bluesy, country good time so climb into your boots and join us!
