“I tell stories about the ways we humans care for each other: parent to child, neighbor to neighbor, friend to friend. I’m interested in the underlying fears that either drive or impede that caregiving, and in the messy ways we present and protect our fragile yet hungry hearts.”

 

Kate Bergeron began her professional writing career as one of the first writer/producer hires for BuzzFeed Video. She studied sketch writing at UCB and produced many digital shorts solo and with the group onewordnocaps in LA. Kate’s been a writer for the website ABQ Mom, has had work featured on Elizabeth Bank’s WhoHaHa, and has written multiple teleplays.

In 2023, Kate won first place in AFMX’s pitch competition for her TV pilot comedy “Upstaged,” and last year, she took second in the AFMX short film screenplay competition with “I See You”, a motherhood horror short.
